The Living Room is an animation project that takes place inside a constructed room over 14 weeks. The project utilizes the stories, talents and help of local senior citizens. The seniors helpdesign the set and then create a series of animation sequences. The animations are based on the subject of “home.” The seniors write stories that address the significance of the objects, memories or emotions connected to the word home. Based on their ideas each senior creates an animation. The animations are defined by the way the subject describes and anthropomorphises the objects and events they associate with home. The room will serve as an abstract portrait of the participants histories.
